Content not Complacent

Contentment is not boring.
It does not mean you're complacent.
.
Contentment means you're willing to listen to God's calling. He's already unlocked the chains and the door to your prison cell, but you have to choose to get up off your butt and move forward with confidence. .

CONFIDENCE that comes from knowing once you step out of this cell [the cell that was once a nasty burden to bear and became, over time, a weird sense of mind-numbing comfort] that God will rebuild and restore joy and prosperity; and everything he has promised will fall over you. Walking out in the expectancy is the contentment I'm talking about. The lazy a**es that stay in the cells are the complacent ones.

Here, everything is laid before them, but they are not thinking clearly--they're blind. unwilling. uninspired.

Jeremiah 32:39-40
"I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear me and that all will then go well for them and for their children after them. I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me."

That's it! They have decided to ignore the Holy Spirit's inspiration and therefore, do not fear God enough to walk out of the prison cell even though they can "hear" their calling and "see" they've been set free (Spiritual deafness: Acts 7:51). God chooses us, but we have to choose him back. He wants to pour divine favor over us, but we have to be CONTENT with His control over us rather than our own comfort. Because right outside that building/prison/cell/construction of walls around you, etc. is where the sounds of joy and gladness can be heard (Jeremiah 33:6-11, especially:vv 9, 11).

God wants to restore YOUR fortune, YOUR joy; but you can't settle for anything other than Him. You're on the edge! Step over! Let Him rain on you--feel it on your skin.
Do you not hear the constant pelting of heavy rain on the roof of your building? That's God-trying to break through.

In Deuteronomy 32:2, Moses' song describes the image of his words- like rain: "Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants."

It's His teaching that you are ignoring! What are you thinking?? Get up and follow the sound!

Contentment is not complacency: it's confidence in His calling--enough to step outside your cell and let His rain drench your face, your hair, your clothes...It's letting Him take over. It's allowing the fear of Him and inspiration from Him to drive your heart and your actions. The Bible says He cleanses, forgives, and rebuilds; He provides, He wants you to enjoy ABUNDANT PEACE and security; and He will give you all the prosperity He has promised (Jeremiah 33:9).
Step out. Be confident. Be inspired. Be in awe. Be prosperous! Be content.

...

Take a look at the beautiful night sky when you worship--don't EVER put that roof above you again. You've got to allow that rain to come in-to come down on you. It's a beautiful thing.. you don't want to miss it for the world.
